Word to Buddy the Elf. Love that dude. I want to take a moment to acknowledge that it is the first anniversary of these T.U.B. mixes!!!!! It has been a blessing to work on these and know that the Hip Hop within them can bring a little joy and love to someone else’s world the way it does mine. Special shout to B.I.T.S. who was the first to suggest these mixes. I look forward to continued mixing in 2012 as Marvalous and crew launch the site and I prep Coco to drop her first verse!!!
Mostly Imma let the music speak for itself. Some new releases featured herein definitely hit me in the heart though, like The Roots and Common, no surprise there. I do wanna put in an extra special plug here for the homie Phonte. In my humble oinion, his project, Charity Starts at Home, was the hip hop album of the year in 2011. Put that isht on your Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa lists. For real, I could quote dude’s verses all day and the beats are murder.
